He is the former Chairman of the board of directors of the Philippine National Bank (PNB), former President and CEO of Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC) and Asian Bank (ASB), and former President of AB Capital and Investment Corporation. He has been involved in banking for the past 40 years. Currently, he is the Chairman and President of Pacific Northstar Inc., (PNI), a boutique financial advisory and a fund Management Firm, and Project Quest Corporation, a venture capital fund and investment holding company. he is also the Chairman/Vice-Chairman of Pointwest Technologies Corporation, engaged in software development and pharmacy benefit management outsourcing and Chairman of BPO International, a human resource and finance and accounting outsourcing services provider. He is also a Director of Sun.Star Publishing Inc. (Cebu), which publishes a chain of community newspapers across the country.


He finished his Master’s degree in Business Management at the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) in 1975 and earned his Bachelor of Arts in General studies from the Ateneo De Manila University.




Vice-President/Director of Pacific Northstar and Project Quest Corporation. Augusto S. Gonzalez has managed several significant advisory transactions, including the sale of Prudential Bank and Citytrust Banking Corporation to BPI. He is also a Director of Pointwest Technologies Inc. and PHOENIX Knowledge Solution. Prior to joining Pacific Northstar, Inc., he was a Senior Manager at AB Capital and Investment Corporation where he managed various debt and equity underwriting transactions. Previous to that, he was a Corporate Finance Analyst with SGV & Company.


He finished his Master’s degree in Management at J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Business Northwestern University. He earned his Bachelor of Management Engineering from Ateneo De Manila University.




He is concurrently Vice President of Pacific Northstar Inc. and Project Quest Corpo., the venture capital fund managed by Pacific Northstar and a Director of Business Process Outsourcing International Inc. Prior to this, he worked as a senior manager with a leading Philippine investment bank and as an analyst with a New York-based consulting company focused on consulting to financial institutions.


He graduated summa cum laude from Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics with concentrations in Finance and Accounting. He is also on the Executive Committee of the Gerry Roxas Foundation, a non-profit organization engaged in micro-financing.

Current President of Mang Tinapay and a member of the Gandionco clan, who have proudly established the “Julie’s Bakeshop” name in the country.


He is the Chief Executive Officer of Cebu Primera Food Industries, Inc., a group that has over 55 branches of Mang Tinapay Stores. Currently he is also the Chief Executive Officer of GENUS Tandem Dev’t Ventures Inc., the owner of Pillow’s Hotel operating in the heart city of Cebu.


A graduate of BS Medical Technology from Velez College and proceeded to finish a degree of doctor of medicine from Cebu institute of Medicine, finished residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the then Southern Islands Medical Center, now Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center.



Atty. Arsenio Alfiler is a Corporate Secretary to several companies. prior to joining Sun Savings Bank, he serves as a Corporate Secretary of Village Enterprise Development Foundation, Inc., Forum Pacific, Inc. and Producers Savings Bank Corporation. Previous to that, he serves as an Independent Director of Asiatrust Development Bank, Inc., First Vice President of AB Capital and Investment Corporation and Asian Bank Corporation.

He graduated from University of the Philippines with a degree in Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration and Bachelor of Laws. Presently, he is a Partner Corporate Counsels Philippines Law Offices.
